According to the spokesman for the Luanda Civil Protection and Fire Service, Faustino Minguês, the deaths were registered in the municipalities of Belas (2), Talatona (2) and Viana (1).
Faustino Minguês said that 5197 homes were flooded, 27 others were destroyed, affecting 5294 families, making a total of 26,120 people.
Data referring to the rains that fell on Wednesday and Thursday over the capital also indicate the fall of 32 trees, the flooding of eight schools, three health posts and the destruction of two medium voltage electricity posts.
"Updates will continue to be made because until the moment we are still working on the ground and these numbers may change depending on the work that is still being done", said Faustino Minguês.
