ZEE entrepreneurs with open doors to establish partnerships with US companies

The visit of a delegation from the United States of America (USA), led by the deputy head of the diplomatic mission in Angola, Mary Emma Arnold, to the Special Economic Zone (ZEE) Luanda-Bengo, provided the opening of doors to the entrepreneurs of the ZEE. According to Roberto Mesquita, general director of metallurgical Galvostahi – after obtaining guarantees from Mary Emma Arnold – from now on, national companies in the ZEE will have the possibility of establishing partnerships with American companies.

On the occasion, the businessman made it known that they still do not have business with US businessmen, but only contacts for the partnership, writes Angop.

Also quoted by Angop, the official indicated that the "services are carried out in an integrated manner, which facilitates businessmen, particularly the reduction of bureaucracy in the issuance of visas, incorporation of companies, payment of taxes, enrollment in the National Institute of Social Security, in addition to payments for services such as water and energy".

He also made it known that the American representative was not aware of this panorama, as well as of other operations that exist in the ZEE, and it is expected that, upon knowing this context, she will intercede with possible American partners, writes Angop.

According to a note from the ZEE, to which VerAngola had access, the delegation led by Mary Emma Arnold, carried out the visit to the ZEE this Thursday morning, having been received at the Investor Support Window by Adriano Celso Borja, representing the PCA of the Economic Zone, Manuel Pedro.

On the occasion, the note adds, the American diplomat "considered the visit to the ZEE of high importance for the diplomatic mission she represents, and an excellent opportunity to understand how this initiative can attract private investment to Angola".

Having been informed about the potential, "ongoing actions and opportunities in the existing business market in the ZEE", the diplomat "reiterated the commitment to publicize the opportunities of the Luanda-Bengo ZEE to American companies interested in investing in Angola".

Furthermore, Mary Emma Arnold reiterated that the US will continue to support the attraction of foreign investment to Angola.

Cited by Angop, he also took the opportunity to announce that within a month a US financial corporation, in collaboration with the "Prosper Africa" initiative, will be in Luanda with a view to identifying projects, through which investments can be supported. in sectors such as health, mineral resources, agriculture, among others.

The official also took the opportunity to highlight the relevance of the "celebration of the thirtieth anniversary of existing diplomatic relations" between the two countries.

According to Angop, the Galvostahi units were visited, as well as the hospital facilities manufacturing unit.
