Portuguese poet with roots in Angola celebrates April 25th in Luanda

The poet Alice Neto de Sousa, born in Portugal and with roots in Angola, marks the beginning of the commemorations of the 50th anniversary of the 25th of April in Luanda with a poetic “performance” at Camões – Centro Cultural Português.

:

Alice Neto de Sousa, born in 1993, conquered social media in 2022 with her poem “Poeta”, said for the first time in the 1st edition of Bantumen's PowerList 100.

“By nature restless in her words and choices, she likes the freedom to think and feel”, is described in a Camões press release.

The poet was also invited to the solemn opening of the official commemorations of the 50th anniversary of the 25th of April, in which she presented the poem "March" written on the occasion.

She also participated as a guest in the 20th edition of the Flip-Festival Literário Internacional de Paraty, in Brazil, on the table "Palavra Livre" and currently collaborates with the program "Bem-Vindos" on RTP Africa.

“She is part of the poets' scholarship of the cultural association "A Palavra", writes in the newspaper "Mensagem de Lisboa" and improves the word and poetry on stage, seeking to 'sharpen the language' for emerging social themes", according to the same statement.

On the 26th of April, Alice Neto de Sousa will participate in the POD FALAR.AO meeting, also at the Pepetela Auditorium, to make known a little bit about the trajectory of her life and work.
