“Onde está Deus?”: Portuguese-Angolan film hits Netflix in September

September of this year is the month in which a Luso-Angolan film will arrive on Netflix. The official trailer for the feature film, entitled “Onde está Deus?”, has been available since last Saturday, and the film hits the streaming platform on September 1st.

Actor Tomás Ferreira, model Carina Cavalheda and playwright Nelson Nhanga are part of the cast of the film, which is directed by António Guimarães and whose production is stamped by Cinelife, TP Films, Artesanato Filmes and Rolos Angola. The soundtrack of the feature film has the seal of Dji Tafinha, writes Angop.

Director António Guimarães, speaking to Angop, considered that this event is gratifying due to the dimension that the feature film has taken, adding that those involved in the production (cast and directors) are happy because the film will reach more than 100 countries when displayed on the online streaming service.

António Guimarães also said that it took "someone outside Angola, to see and believe" to leverage the project: "It took someone outside Angola, to see and believe and push the project to get where it will go", he said, quoted by Angop.

Furthermore, according to the director, the introduction of the film in the Netflix inventory will also considerably change the career of young independent filmmakers, writes Angop.

"Onde está Deus?" has a pre-debut in Angola scheduled for the month of August, highlighting the fact that it won a trilogy, whose production of the second part, according to Angop, is already assured.

"'Onde está Deus?' it is not a simple film of independent Luso-Angolan production, but it is a starting point for the paradigm shift of the whole perspective on the events that the world is facing in recent times", said the director.

The film revolves around a time when a sect wants to kill young women for satanic rituals, with God intervening through a young writer in the lapse of death and destroying the devil's plan in that Christian city, writes Angop.
