Fuel rail terminal opens in Malanje

This Monday, a railroad terminal for unloading and storing fuel was inaugurated in Malanje. The terminal consists of two tanks – each with a capacity to store 300,000 liters – and pumping systems.

The inauguration of this infrastructure, valued at 250 million kwanzas and which is part of a partnership between the Luanda Railway (CFL) and the company Parametros Perfeito, marks the return of a CFL storage terminal to Malanje , more than a decade after the previous one was stopped, writes to Angop.

The project also made it possible to implement a fuel pump system in the capital, with a view to simplifying the filling of wagons.

Júlio Bango, chairman of the CFL Board of Directors, quoted by Angop, said that the CFL currently has six tank wagons capable of carrying more than 330,000 cubic meters of fuel per trip.

After all, the CFL estimates that it transports around 1,333,400 cubic meters of fuel on a weekly basis through three trips a week. However, this number should soon increase with the restoration of two dozen more wagons.

Domingos Eduardo, deputy provincial governor for the Political, Economic and Social sector, took the opportunity to highlight the importance of the infrastructure, admitting that it will help to expand the storage capacity in Malanje as well as favor the east of Angola.

He also left a challenge to Parametros Perfeito: to invest in other areas, such as transport, tourism, infrastructure, among others, to stimulate the region's economy, writes Angop.
