Covid-19: Angola with 110 new cases and 31 recoveries in the last 24 hours

Angola has recorded 110 new cases of covid-19, 31 recoveries from the disease, and no deaths, in the past 24 hours, according to this Thursday's epidemiological bulletin from the National Directorate of Public Health.

With the new reported data, the country accumulates 23,951 cases, 22,175 recoveries, maintaining the 557 deaths recorded until Wednesday, 1219 cases are active, of which three in critical condition, 17 severe, 56 moderate, 34 mild and 1109 asymptomatic.

According to the document, 110 people are hospitalized, 48 are in institutional quarantine and 1301 contacts are under epidemiological surveillance.

The cases in the period in reference were notified in Luanda (107), Cabinda (2) and Zaire (1), 65 males and 45 females, aged between 1 and 83 years.

In the period in reference 2280 samples were processed by RT-PCR, which makes a cumulative of 465,941 samples processed to date, with a positivity rate of 5.1 percent.

The health authorities controlling the entry and exit of Luanda, the only one of the 18 provinces of the country under sanitary fence, have tested, in the last 24 hours, 743 people, based on rapid serological tests, with the complement of the antigen in reactive cases.

The covid-19 pandemic has caused at least 2,974,651 deaths worldwide, resulting from more than 138.2 million cases of infection, according to an assessment made by the French agency AFP.

The disease is transmitted by a new coronavirus detected in late 2019 in Wuhan, a city in central China.
