Covid-19: Angola with one more death and 92 positive cases in the last 24 hours

Angola has registered 92 new cases of covid-19, one death and 35 recoveries from the disease, in the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 23,549 infections and 554 deaths, the Ministry of Health announced this Monday.

According to the epidemiological bulletin of the National Directorate of Public Health, of the new cases 60 were registered in Luanda, 12 in Cunene, nine in Cabinda, four in Malanje, three in Huambo, the same number in Zaire and one in Benguela, with ages ranging from 2 to 88 years, 47 males and 45 females.

In the same period, one death was reported in the province of Huambo, of an Angolan citizen, 74 years old, while the 35 people recovered from the disease, 21 were in Luanda, five in Cuando Cubango, the same number in Huila, four in Malanje, aged between 17 and 59 years old.

With the figures of the last 24 hours, the country has 22.093 recovered patients and 902 active cases, of which four in critical condition, 11 severe, 53 moderate, 41 mild and 793 asymptomatic.

There are 109 people hospitalized, 44 in institutional quarantine and 1189 contacts under epidemiological surveillance.

The laboratories processed in the last 24 hours 2116 samples by RT-PCR, pointing the cumulative to 459,609 samples processed to date, with a positivity rate of 5.1 percent.

At entry and exit points in the capital, health authorities have subjected 808 people to rapid serological testing, with antigen supplementation in reactive cases.

The covid-19 pandemic has caused at least 2,937,355 deaths worldwide, resulting from more than 135.9 million cases of infection, according to an assessment made by the French agency AFP.

The disease is transmitted by a new coronavirus detected in late 2019 in Wuhan, a city in central China.
