ZEE will create Guiché de Investimentos to simplify business licensing

The Special Economic Zone (ZEE) Luanda-Bengo will create an Investment Counter, which will aim to help simplify the business licensing process. According to the president of the Board of Directors of AIPEX and ZEE, António Henriques da Silva, the counter will bring together all the services that are part of the ZEE, facilitating the process of registering and opening businesses.

One of the reasons that usually delays the process of occupying the spaces is linked to the legalization of business intentions. In order to combat this problem, speed up the process and bring the investor closer, the official explained that ZEE decided to move forward with the creation of the counter, which will make all the information and legal incentives available more quickly to investors.

António Henriques da Silva, cited by Jornal de Angola, did not indicate a concrete date for the creation of the Investment Counter, having taken the opportunity to refer that the spaces that are empty in that enterprise are available to be occupied.

Diplomatic visit proves fruitful

During three days, between Monday and Wednesday, 67 ambassadors accredited in the country visited the EEZ. At the end of the diplomatic visit, the diplomats were surprised with the rapid evolution of the country as well as the investment opportunities created.

According to Jornal de Angola, some ambassadors have shown willingness to expand their investment. This is the case of Hasan Solak, counselor of the Embassy of Turkey, who indicated that his country is interested in investing in the areas of health, oil, construction, and mining.

The responsible revealed that soon investors from his country should travel to Angola to analyze the business environment, in the scope of the agreements that the two countries signed.

In turn, Ewa Polano, the Swedish ambassador, showed interest in investing in the sectors of Energy and Telecommunications and Communication Technologies.

The ambassador also stressed that Swedish companies are participating in the tender launched by the Luanda Province Government and the Ministry of Economy and Planning for solid waste management. She also referred to the experiences exchanged between the Universities of Angola and her country, indicating that there is interest in strengthening the Health sector.

Also during the visit, Teté António, Minister of Foreign Affairs, considered that ZEE is "a national reference of quality, rigor and responsibility" and admitted that the visit had positive results.

The minister admitted the possibility of future visits in that and other areas of the country.

Teté António, also cited by Jornal de Angola, challenged the national producers to become part of the economic diplomacy. "The EEZ has adequate infrastructures and facilities for national or foreign companies capable of fostering domestic production and job generation, with competitiveness and innovation," he said.
