According to the same source, these "two flights are extraordinary" and the planes go to Luanda and Maputo empty, "carrying humanitarian cargo" due to the covid-19 pandemic.

Asked if there are still seats available on the two flights, the same source answered yes, stating that people interested in returning from Angola and Mozambique can fill out the form available on the TAP website and buy the ticket.

As to whether the company plans to make even more flights, including to other Portuguese-speaking African countries, the source admitted this possibility "if there is need", but recalled the difficulties in making these types of flights, bearing in mind that it is necessary to "circumvent the prohibitions and limitations imposed by these countries".

On Friday, the British government informed its citizens in Luanda of the availability of seats on this TAP flight under a European agreement for consular support between Member States.

Angola has 19 confirmed cases of covid-19 and two deaths, while Mozambique has 17 reported cases of infection with the new coronavirus.
