Located in the southern part of the country, near the province of Namibe, this reserve was established for a limited time in 1957 as a Partial Reserve. Three years later it was considered a Regional Reserve.
The Namibe Partial Reserve occupies an area of over four thousand square kilometres.
Here you will find large sand dunes, as this reserve is located in a desert area. For this reason, it only has plants that can adapt to the desert, such as Welwitschia mirabilis - better known as "desert octopus".
Buffaloes, elephants, giraffes, wildebeests, hippos, impalas, black rhinos, mountain zebras, are some of the animals that live in this reserve.
