According to information published by the Ministry of the Interior on its Facebook page, the accident happened around 1:30 am in Bairro Bem-Vindo, when the victims, aged between 8 and 18 years old, were surprised by the landslide.
Several provinces, including Luanda, were affected by the torrential rains that caused floods and flooded hundreds of homes.
For the next 24 hours, the National Institute of Meteorology and Geophysics (INAMET) maintains rain and cloudy sky forecasts for practically the entire territory.
In the Northern region, periods of moderate to heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms are forecast in some municipalities in the provinces of Luanda, Zaire, Cabinda, Bengo, Cuanza Norte, Cuanza Sul, Malanje and Uíge, and light rain or drizzle in some municipalities in the provinces of Lunda Norte and Lunda Sul.
In the Center region, moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms may occur in some municipalities in the provinces of Huambo and Bié and light rain in some municipalities in the provinces of Benguela and Moxico.
In the South, the forecast is for cloudy skies in almost the entire region and periods of drizzle or light rain in some municipalities in the provinces of Huíla and Namibe.
