PRS considers that government reshuffle "does not bring solutions"

The leader of the Social Renewal Party (PRS) said this Tuesday in Luanda that the reduction and remodeling of the government "does not bring great solutions" to the economic moment in the country.

:

Benedito Daniel reacted, in statements to the Lusa agency, to the recent government reshuffle made by the President, João Lourenço, going from 28 to 21 ministries.

The long list of resignations, released Monday by the Civil House of João Lourenço, includes 17 ministers and 24 secretaries of state, as well as the Secretary of the President of the Republic for Political, Constitutional and Parliamentary Affairs and the director of the Office of Psychological Action and information of the Security House of the President of the Republic.

For Benedito Daniel, the reduction in the number of ministries disclosed is not evident, since what there is is "a transitability of the number of ministries".

"They move from one to the other and there is no reduction in staff costs, in terms of payment. What we believe will eventually be reduced will be the public expenditure (...) of ministries that will no longer exist" since they will be secretariats of state and will not have the same expenditure as a ministry, he said.

For Benedito Daniel, "the number of people will continue to be the same, it will carry over" and if this does not happen it will result in an increase in the "army of unemployed already existing", he stressed.

Therefore, the measure presented, for the politician, "does not bring great solutions".

"It's a step forward, so to speak, that is being taken, that is necessary, because there is no other solution", he commented.

"We think it was not a very good solution, but the one that was presented", he added.

According to Benedito Daniel, the government reshuffle was necessary, for the time being the country's budget has been decreasing more and more, and international 'commodities' are not on a favorable plan either.

On the other hand, the leader of PRS argues that it is necessary to give "some time" for the adaptation of the governors who are appointed, taking into account that to govern "depends on some adaptation".

"And that requires some time, but we have also found that some people are appointed and then they don't even have a time of adaptation and are exonerated again. Then things wouldn't be good," he stressed.
