Namibia opens borders to angolans in need of medical care

Angolans in need of medical treatment will be able to cross the border between Angola and Namibia to access the necessary assistance. At a time when both countries have their borders closed due to the covid-19 pandemic, the Namibian government has decided to make an exception to the rule.

:

According to a document from the Ministry of Interior, Immigration and Security, angolans, especially "those residing in border towns", will be able to enter Namibia "on condition that they are seeking medical care".

According to the document, cited by The Namibian, citizens must enter and leave that country "through the legally designated entry points", where border officials can control entry and exit.

To enter Namibia, angolans must be in possession of the vaccination sheet and valid travel documents, such as a passport.

On entry, citizens will be subject to covid-19 containment measures - such as temperature measurement and quarantine if justified.
