GPL marks 'Women's March' with tribute to female employees

March is known for being the month in which International Women's Day is celebrated (marked on the 8th) and the government of the province of Luanda (GPL) did not want to let this date go unnoticed, having paid a special tribute to its female employees, by decorating the stairs of its headquarters building with their names.

In a statement, to which VerAngola had access, the provincial government informs that this tribute is part of the 'March for Women' celebrations.

"As part of the 'March for Women' celebrations, the provincial government of Luanda paid a special tribute to its female collaborators, recognizing their commitment, dedication and leadership," the note reads.

Thus, says the GPL, "as part of the initiative, the stairs of the GPL headquarters building were decorated with the names of all female employees, including provincial directors, administrators and municipal directors, symbolizing the valorization of the female role in public administration."

The provincial government also considers that this tribute reinforces its commitment to "gender equality and the recognition of women's contribution to the development of Luanda".
