Thus, according to the final statement of the meeting, cited by Angop, the body focused on the presidential decree that authorizes the agreement between Angola and Namibia on the development, construction and operation of the Baynes hydroelectric plant.
This is the document by which the parties reached an agreement to promote the joint construction of the aforementioned dam, on the section of the Cunene River, located on the border between both countries.
According to a statement from the Presidency of the Republic, to which VerAngola had access, the meeting also served to debate topics proposed by different ministerial sectors.
"The meeting discussed topics proposed by different ministerial sectors, such as Finance, Territorial Administration, Interior, Family and Promotion of Women, Oil and Youth and Sports. The Civil House of the President of the Republic also brought up for debate matters within its competence", says the note.
In this sense, the Council of Ministers considered several diplomas that will be forwarded to parliament.
In this Thursday's session, "which had a nine-point agenda, several bills were considered that will be sent to the House of Laws – the National Assembly –, in order to be discussed by the deputies with a view to their approval", says the Presidency's note.
Among these diplomas, stands out the law that approves the Disciplinary Regime for National Police Officers; the law on Decorations and Distinctions of the National Police; the law on the Codification of Territorial Units; the law amending the Organic Law of General Elections; the law amending the Organic Law on the Organization and Functioning of the National Electoral Commission; and the law amending the law of the Official Electoral Office.
The youth also deserved the attention of the body, with the Youth Development Action Plan being assessed.
"In the Youth sector, the Council of Ministers assessed the Youth Development Action Plan, to be implemented by 2027, which aims to promote the social, economic and cultural inclusion of young people, responding to the challenges faced by Angolan youth and transforming them into opportunities for growth and full integration into society," the statement said.
Among other matters considered, another topic on the agenda was "the approval of the diploma that changes the Legal Regime of the Individual Taxpayer Registry (CPF)".
