According to the statement from the Council of Ministers, this consultative body, created by presidential decree, will be responsible for organising the implementation plans for the actions provided for in the national strategy for preventing and combating terrorism, as well as for coordinating and articulating the points of contact for the various areas of intervention on the matter.
The Council of Ministers also considered proposals for legislation related to the Organic Law on General Elections to "adapt some rules of the current law, with a view to ensuring better organisation of electoral processes and greater electoral participation by citizens", on the organisation and functioning of the National Electoral Commission and on the unofficial voter registration, also with the aim of adapting some rules.
Angola will hold general elections in 2027, electing at the same time the President and the deputies of the Assembly of the Republic.
The ministers also analysed the balance of the implementation of the General State Budget for 2024, with an estimated authorised revenue and expenditure of 24.72 billion kwanzas.
In view of the total volume of revenue collected in relation to total expenditure, there was a budget deficit of around 349 billion kwanzas, while the current balance was a surplus of around 262 billion kwanzas.
