In the Egyptian capital, President João Lourenço represented the African Union at the extraordinary summit of the Arab League, which approved a reconstruction plan for Gaza.
During the summit, at the opening ceremony, the acting President of the African Union gave a speech defending the right of Palestinians to remain in Gaza against the idea of their transfer to neighbouring countries and also called for the opening of humanitarian corridors. He called for facilitating the return to the Gaza Strip of more than 2 million internally displaced people and those in neighbouring countries as a result of the war that has devastated that part of Palestinian territory over the last 15 months.
Upon arrival in Luanda, the President of the Republic was greeted at the airport by the Vice-President of the Republic, Esperança da Costa, and by senior figures from the State Central Administration.
