In a statement, to which VerAngola had access, the hospital complex informs that the campaign will run until March 27.
"The Cardeal Dom Alexandre do Nascimento Hospital Complex will carry out, between March 24 and 27, 2025, its first ultrasound-guided breast cyst ablation campaign", says the hospital's note.
The initiative, according to the statement, aims to "offer a safe, effective and affordable solution for women with symptomatic breast cysts or who require specialized monitoring".
Thus, patients will undergo "a clinical and ultrasound evaluation to confirm the indication for the procedure", which is "minimally invasive" and "indicated for the treatment of recurrent or symptomatic breast cysts".
The hospital unit's multidisciplinary medical team "is mobilized to ensure the success of this important preventive screening", which will be carried out in the radiology services of the aforementioned hospital complex.
"The campaign aims to destroy the inner lining of the cyst (secretory epithelium) using absolute ethanol (95-99 percent), preventing the reaccumulation of fluid," the hospital further explains.
