According to the municipal health director of Chitato, Augusto Muatxissaco, the outbreak has a greater incidence in the municipality of Dundo, capital of Lunda Norte, also affecting the municipalities of Chitato and Mussungue.

"At this moment we have registered 143 positive cases, so, epidemiologically it is an outbreak", said Augusto Muatxissaco in statements to Angolan Public Television (TPA), announcing the start, this Monday, of a vaccination campaign for children aged 0 to 5 years.

The manager stressed that the vaccination campaign will last eight days, with fixed posts in health units and mobile teams.

Measles is a serious infectious disease that can lead to death, and vaccination is the only form of prevention.
