Using its Facebook page, the municipal administration of Rangel announced the victory of the group from that municipality.
"For the third consecutive time, the carnival group União Recreativo do Kilamba is crowned winner of the Luanda Carnival 2025", reads the publication, to which VerAngola had access.
The group won with almost 1000 points. According to the event's organizing committee, cited by Angop, União Recreativo do Kilamba won a total of 947 points.
The podium is also made up of the groups União Mundo da Ilha (843 points) and União Njinga Mbandi (793 points), which won second and third places, respectively.
Although not on the podium, it is also worth noting that fourth place was taken by União Amazonas do Prenda (768 points), while fifth place was taken by União Kiela (752 points).
The Class A parade took place last Monday and, according to a note from the Luanda provincial government to which VerAngola had access, it was marked by "colour, satisfaction, vibration, joy, euphoria and a lot of emotion on the part of the revelers".
Several figures were present in the stands of the parade, such as the Vice-President of the Republic, Esperança da Costa, the Minister of Culture, Filipe Zau, the Governor of Luanda, Luís Nunes, among others.
It should be noted that this year's Luanda Carnival was held under the theme of the 50th anniversary of national independence.
