During the inspection, according to Televisão Pública de Angola (TPA), residents were asked to present the appropriate documentation for the apartments, many of which did not have it.
After the suspicions were confirmed, the technicians removed the furniture from the illegally occupied houses. According to Kukeny Fonseca, INH technician, the technicians are working according to a mandate.
"We are working through a mandate, everyone who is in this condition will be presented and people have to justify this practice", he said, speaking to TPA.
The head of the institute reported that, in Vida Pacífica, they detected 20 apartments in an illegal situation, guaranteeing that they will proceed with the same inspection actions in other centralities of the country.
"We are continuing with other centralities and urbanizations that are in these conditions of having residents who have been invading the apartments. At the moment, we have detected 20 apartments," said Kukeny Fonseca, adding: "We recently received a citizen who showed up with his documentation, all original, but he was unable to take possession of his property because there was already an invader there, so he took advantage of this opportunity and we will now deal with the citizen's situation".
The INH manager also warned about the occurrence of fraud regarding the acquisition of apartments: "People must be aware that institutions are ready to resolve these situations. Before making any payment in relation to any property, they must first confirm the veracity of the document, go to the institution to confirm whether the person doing the business is actually the owner or not so as not to fall for these scams".
Irregular situations were detected by residents. One of the residents, speaking to TPA, said that people have been appearing to "break down the doors".
"We have realized that there have been individuals who were not allocated or given the apartments, they appear to break down the doors and suddenly enter the apartments, we are left without knowing whether it really belonged to them or not", she stated, adding that they were surprised "when the police and the press showed up to actually prove that there really are individuals who ended up breaking into apartments" that didn't belong to them.
