According to the person responsible, just over 560 workers are linked to the hospital, the number of which is too small to provide the necessary response. Speaking to Angop, Elsa Fortes pointed out that only 566 professionals are linked to the unit, having admitted that this number is insufficient to provide assistance, both medically and medicinally, to users.
According to the director, more than 300 patients receive medical assistance per day.
The person responsible – speaking as part of a visit by deputies from the Malanje Electoral Constituency to that unit – also said that the service that presents the greatest need at a technical level is Pathological Anatomy.
Thus, on the occasion, Elsa Fortes asked parliamentarians to advocate with the bodies, aiming for the entry of professionals to fill the staff, as well as solving other problems, writes Angop.
Ana da Purificação, coordinator of the group of deputies from the province of Malanje, assured that she will convey these concerns to the local and central government, aiming to increase the number of professionals and, consequently, the expansion of medical assistance.
According to Angop, the deputies also visited the provincial maternal and child hospital units and sanatorium.
