In a note of support for the National Union of Public Prosecutor's Magistrates (SNMMP), AJA called on the competent bodies to respond to the "legitimate demands of Public Prosecutor's Office magistrates, in order to give real value and importance to this fundamental body for the judicial system Angolan".

AJA highlighted its support for its partner "in the decision to stop services, as a way of fighting for the dignification of working and remuneration conditions and for the restoration of rights and privileges withdrawn in violation of the constitutional principle of the irreducibility of magistrates' remuneration".

For AJA, this situation that affects Angolan magistrates "compromises the independent and effective action of justice administration bodies and, consequently, limits the citizen's right to access law and justice".

The SNMMP called for the start of an eight-day strike this Friday, against the lack of an adequate remuneration policy and discriminatory decisions such as the withdrawal of the diplomatic passport.

The Attorney General's Office (PGR) considered any attempt to strike illegal over the demands presented by the Public Prosecutor's Office magistrates, even if they are legitimate.
