New UNITA parliamentary group headquarters inaugurated

The new seat of the UNITA parliamentary group, in Ingombota, Luanda, was inaugurated this Thursday, in a ceremony that had the guidance of party leader Adalberto da Costa Júnior.

:

Speaking on the occasion, the UNITA president said that "this physical space dignifies the parliamentary group", adding that "without a doubt, it improves the dignity of representation".

"In each one of you and in the parliamentary group lies the hope for the realization of the Angolan", he added.

Adalberto da Costa Júnior considered that the country "has everything to gain", indicating that "it would be good if in the control of the most strategic document that we have in the country, the General State Budget, this space of availability is aimed at serving Angola and the Angolans, to build a better country for all".

Thus, he left an appeal to the deputies: "Work hard, seek proximity, carry out the will of those who voted for you and those who did not vote for you", because the deputy is the "representative of the people".

"It will be five years that I hope that the parliamentary group, its advisers, its employees (...), fulfill some fundamental assumptions", among which "help the National Assembly to recover a function that in the last revision of the regiment was withdrawal, the regiment that the Assembly has today is less democratic than the regiment it had before, the democratic aspect of the supervision recognized to the deputy has diminished, the deputy is restricted in the scope of his acts", said Adalberto da Costa Júnior.

Abel Chivukuvuku, coordinator of the PRA JÁ-Angola political project coordinator and member of the Patriotic Front, also delivered a short speech at the ceremony. "We are here to open a headquarters for the work, work in the offices", do not stay closed there because "the people have to know you", he said.

He also made reference to the next elections: "2027 is already around the next corner and it will be the moment when the challenges will arise and we will have to rise to the occasion".

The ceremony was attended by UNITA deputies, including Liberty TchIaka, president of the parliamentary group, as well as representatives of the National Assembly, the Supreme Court, among others.

According to Angop, the headquarters has three floors and has offices, accommodation and administrative areas, among others.
