According to Rádio Nacional de Angola (RNA), the undertaking, which involved an investment of around 169 million dollars, will last 24 months.

The project, which will be capable of producing 63,000 cubic meters of water per day, will also comprise three new distribution centres, says RNA, which adds that after completion it will help to complete around 15,000 home connections.

This Thursday, parliamentarians from the constituency of the province of Lunda Sul carried out a verification visit to the works of the power plant, which is being conceived near the Luachimo river.

On the occasion, the coordinator of the parliamentarians referred that all the infrastructures visited present "a very high level of execution".

"We visited the main water collection and pumping system, which is the Luachimo system, which is a well-designed system, and also because it is upstream and where the reception will be downstream, which is part of the city. infrastructures that were the object of our visit have a very high level of execution to the detriment, in some cases, of the level of financial execution and this is already a good sign and even better because the contractors assured us that the financial issue is safeguarded and hence not being afraid to work", he said, quoted by RNA.
