Without advancing the amount deposited illegally by Angolans in his country, the Swiss diplomat informed that a legal process is underway aimed at restitution of the capital withdrawn from Angola: "Switzerland is a country where Angolan capital was deposited in an illicit manner and we are going to return that money, through a legal process that follows all the principles of legal cooperation that we have with Angola", assured the ambassador, quoted by Jornal de Angola.

Still on the subject of corruption, Lukas Johannes Gasser – who was speaking this Tuesday, in Cabinda, where he made a working visit – classified the process of combating corruption carried out by the Government as important, having stressed that in this way the country will obtain more confidence in the international and investor environment.

The official also took the opportunity to mention the cooperation between both countries: "We cooperate with Angola in the area of trade, but we also intend to cooperate in the field of health. We have the best pharmaceutical companies that are interested in investing in Angola", he said, cited by Jornal de Angola.

With regard to Cabinda, the diplomat referred that his country is interested in collaborating in the field of nature conservation. "In Cabinda, Switzerland is interested in cooperating, above all, in nature conservation. We are interested in the tourist potential of the province and, mainly, in the Maiombe forest, aiming to develop ecological tourism", said the official, quoted by Jornal de Angola.

According to a communiqué from the Provincial Government of Cabinda, which VerAngola was averse to, the Swiss diplomat, who began his visit to the said province on Tuesday, interacted with rangers from the Maiombe National Park, in the municipality of Buco Zau, having considered "important the preservation of the fauna and flora, which fits in the relations of cooperation, in domains as the environment, tourism and culture".

In addition, the ambassador also made a point of "getting to know the facilities and the work carried out by the company ALGOA (of Swiss origin), present in Cabinda since 1972 in the metallurgical support of the oil industry, which recently participated in the construction of the Lifua A Platform", adds the note.

On the occasion, the provincial governor, Mara Quiosa, highlighted the "employability factor in ALGOA's activity, as it currently involves around 300 Angolans", having welcomed "with satisfaction the forecast of creating around 400 more jobs, with the start of the South-N'Dola platform project".
