DocLuanda presents itself as an event aimed at documentary cinema that aims to "encourage cultural exchange" and "establish a contemporary vision of the World and Angola through cinema and its history, thus contributing, also, to the future of the panorama of Angolan cinema".

The festival takes place annually and intends in future editions to continue to extend its action to other artistic aspects such as concerts, exhibitions and performing arts.

DocLuanda is an event conceived and programmed by filmmaker Jorge António, in partnership with Camões and Fundação BAI and produced by Criacom/BCC and Mukixe Produções, whose second edition will take place between March 30 and April 6, 2023.

The exhibition and book fair will be open every day of the festival, from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm in the Pepetela auditorium (Camões) and at the BAI academy, with the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the BAI Foundation and DocLuanda.

According to a note from Camões – Centro Cultural Português, the opening session in the Pepetela auditorium is reserved for guests only.

In turn, the BAI academy will host the same initiative on March 31st and April 5th and 6th, with the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the BAI Foundation and DocLuanda.

In that space, there will also be available the photographic exhibition "Augusta Conchiglia – Nos Trilhos da Frente Leste", the book and DVD fair, special sessions, as well as debates and a round table on "Documentary Production in Angola".
