Country plans to hold more than 200 national production fairs by the end of the year

The national director for Economy, Competitiveness and Innovation, Joffrana Xavier, announced that the Ministry of Economy and Planning plans to hold around 250 fairs of national production by the end of the year.

The list of provinces that will host more fairs is led by Cuanza Norte, with 39 fairs, followed by Huambo (32 fairs) and Malanje (22 fairs), revealed the official, quoted by Jornal de Angola.

The province of Lunda Norte will have 19 fairs, followed by Huíla with 18 and Bié and Uíge with 16 each. Also noteworthy are Benguela (15), Cuanza Sul (11) and Cunene (11).

Joffrana Xavier also informed that the province of Cuando Cubango will host 10 fairs, Moxico will have nine, Zaire will have eight fairs while Cabinda and Luanda will host seven fairs each.

Bengo, Lunda Sul and Namibe will host six, four and three fairs, respectively.

The national director for Economy, Competitiveness and Innovation said that, in addition to this event, eight more fairs have been held since January, resulting in the formalization of 18 contracts estimated at over 21 million kwanzas.

Taking stock of the fairs program, the official indicated that, last year, until the second half of the year, 77 fairs were held.
