Accompanied by the Cape Verdean first lady, Débora Katisa Carvalho, Ana Dias Lourenço made a brief visit to the premises of a textile factory dedicated to the production of clothing as well as reusable sanitary towels.

"We must open our minds more and see what we can do, simple things, therefore, without much cost in the beginning, and that good will, dedication and love for the things that are done is possible (...) . It is possible to increase their self-esteem and help them to also increase their income", said Ana Dias Lourenço, when giving an overview of the visit.

According to Rádio Nacional de Angola (RNA), in addition to the factory, the First Lady of the Republic also visited some historical sites, such as the Tarrafal City Hall, an arts and crafts center and the Resistance Museum (known as Tarrafal concentration camp, where political prisoners from Angola, Cape Verde and Guinea were held).

"After the other part of the visit was a more historical visit, we went to the Tarrafal concentration center, which is now a museum, we can go back and look at history and receive the information that we were given of how our comrades, the our patriots from Angola, Cape Verde and Guinea have done within the chain to become what we are today, the free and independent countries", he said, quoted by RNA.

In turn, Débora Katisa Carvalho expressed concern about the poverty scenario of many women in Cape Verde.

Considering that this is not a problem exclusive to Cape Verde, the Cape Verdean first lady admitted that working together can help overcome this challenge: "It is not a problem, a challenge exclusive to Cape Verde, certainly in Angola we have this challenge in other African countries (...). Let's work together to address this issue", he said, also quoted by RNA.
