The agreement to carry out this process was signed this Friday, in Luanda, between the Ministry of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
The process aims at the implementation of the master plan, including a migration schedule for the new services, such as multimedia transmission and the acquisition of equipment, among others.
The Japanese side is responsible for technical support, training of staff at home and abroad and the sending of technological equipment, so that from 2023 digital terrestrial television is guaranteed.
Luanda, Malanje and Cabinda are the provinces chosen for the start of the project, with the application of about 416 thousand dollars.
At the signing ceremony, the Minister of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication, Manuel Homem, quoted by Angop, said that with digital terrestrial television the country will have ease of transmitting content and implementing the distance education program.
For his part, the Japanese ambassador to Angola, Jiro Maruhashi, highlighted the fact that Angola adopted the Japanese method, guaranteeing support for migration, digital terrestrial television training in Angola.
Digital Terrestrial Television, also known as America Open Digital Television, is a technology in which a network of terrestrial repeaters transmits the signal and television by radio waves in a digital format.
