According to the municipal administrator of Quipungo, Jaime Mateia, people were hit inside his residence.
"An electric shock hit a hut (grass house), where four people were, victimizing three, aged between 10 and 31, the fourth person being a child who was also hit, but [is] out of danger ", said Jaime Mateia in statements to public radio.
In turn, the spokesman for the local Civil Protection and Fire Service, Nelson Mário, called on local administrations to make an effort to install lightning rods to avoid situations like this.
"While it rains and thunders, turn off your devices such as cell phones, televisions, radios, computers, headsets, as they are susceptible to atmospheric rays," he said.
