"The activities should take place throughout the national territory, as well as in the diplomatic and consular missions of Angola," the Ministry said, indicating that the Central Act "will take place in the province of Cabinda, being up to the corresponding provincial government to program and organize the activities as indicated.

The resolution 31/07 of April 25, of the Council of Ministers, and the Presidential Decree 156/12 of June 29, determine that the commemorations of the Peace Day aim to "develop actions that instill in Angolans the ideals of peace, encourage and promote the spirit of tolerance and mutual respect, exalt values such as love for homeland and respect for its symbols and praise the final peace and national reconciliation.

It was 19 years ago that the country "reached an important milestone in its history by putting an end to a long-lasting fratricidal war, paving the way for national reconstruction and reconciliation."

The guardianship concludes by saying that on April 4, 2002, the Government and UNITA signed the Memorandum of Understanding to the Lusaka Protocol, "outlining the guidelines for the rebirth of a stronger, more united and, above all, pacified country.
