According to a note published on Facebook by the Presidency, this public body will be "in charge of developing guidelines that guide and regulate the licensing, quality control, safety and effectiveness of medicines, as well as the efficient operation of establishments and bodies operating in the area.
The minister of Health, Sílvia Lutucuta, cited by Jornal de Angola admitted that the creation of this agency will be an added value for the Health area that "has long lacked an entity" with such competences.
The agency "will ensure the quality, safety and effectiveness of medicines, as well as health technologies, for human use, throughout the country," she said.
The creation of this agency was approved this Wednesday, in the third ordinary session of the Council of Ministers.
"At the same meeting, the collegial body of the Government also approved matters linked to the sectors of Justice, Petroleum, Energy and Water, Spatial Planning and Foreign Affairs," concludes the note.
