Yuri da Cunha pays tribute to Teta Lando

Yuri da Cunha will pay tribute to Teta Lando: the artist will give four concerts where he will remember the most varied albums and hits of Teta Lando, one of the greatest artists the country has ever known.

:

Named "Yuri da Cunha canta Teta Lando", the concerts will take place at the Royal Plaza Hotel on April 9 and 10. On April 17, the artist will be back on stage, but this time the show will be broadcast live on TV Zimbo.

The last concert will take place on May 1 at the Luanda Beach Club.

"Motivated by his ideals of progress and cultural emancipation, Yuri da Cunha, who is considered one of the best performers of his generation, will take us superbly on a journey through the universe of Teta Lando's lyrics and melodies, such as 'Tia Chica'; 'Independência'; 'Vou Voltar'; 'Semba Rytmée'; 'Menina de Angola'; 'Esperanças Idosas', among others," said a statement sent to VerAngola.

The note also says that Yuri da Cunha will contribute to "remember and resize the creative art of Teta Lando, who with his work, helped to write our feeling and our unmistakable history, as well as pass the importance of the artistic legacy that represents the history of Angolan Popular Music to younger generations.

Remember that Yuri da Cunha has already paid tribute, in an album, to another great name of national music, Artur Nunes. Called "Yuri da Cunha sings Artur Nunes", this album has a "retrospective view without prejudice, the communicative and poetic magnitude of Kimbundu in the texts of Angolan Popular Music, the work of singer and composer of Sambizanga Artur Nunes".
