The Ministry of Education (MED) began distributing the manuals in mid-January. In total 37,500,000 primary school textbooks have been produced and 35,875,817 books have been delivered so far.
In a statement to Angop, the director of the National Institute for Research and Development in Education (INIDE), Manuel Afonso, revealed that Benguela, Bié and Cunene have already received their share of books in full: 4,087,500, 3,637,500 and 487,500 books, respectively.
To distribute the manuals, the executive decided to create two centers that receive, store and distribute the books throughout the country. The two centres are in Benguela and Luanda.
The production of the books, writes Angop, cost the government more than 16 billion kwanzas.
