Lusa and Angop sign protocol for training journalists in Luanda

The Lusa agency and its Angolan counterpart, Angop, signed a collaboration protocol in the training area, with a strong multimedia component, providing for actions for about 30 journalists in the second half.

According to the agreement signed this Thursday, at the premises of Lusa, in Lisbon, between the chairman of the Board of Directors of the Portuguese news agency and the Minister of Social Communication, Lusa will send six trainers to Luanda, who will train around of 30 journalists from the Angolan news agency.

"The objective is to train the staff of Angop journalists in different areas in journalism techniques, photo journalism and multimedia, that is what we want", said the chairman of the board of the Angolan agency, Josué Salusuva Isaías.

For his part, the president of Lusa, Nicolau Santos, stated that "the essential vector" of the protocol "is training, which will be given to Angop and other Angolan media".

Still subject to confirmation due to the global pandemic situation caused by the new coronavirus, the training should take place in September or October.
