Fifth consecutive goal, Angolan draws Moreirense against Benfica

Angolan Fábio Abreu, from the Portuguese club Moreirense, lives a clearly positive phase in his passage through the Portuguese football league. This Monday, the striker scored the goal that earned his team a draw against the now ex-leader of the championship, Sport Lisboa e Benfica.

In a match counting for the 24th round of the league, Fábio Abreu played the title holder in the match between Benfica and Moreirense, played at Estádio da Luz, in Lisbon.

After Adbu Conté's pass, the Angolan finished ‘by cart”, putting his team at an advantage. It was only at the end of the game, at 90 + 1, that the opponents scored the tie, through Pizzi. In this way, and with the victory against Santa Clara, FC Porto placed itself in the leadership of the Portuguese football championship.

At 27, the player has been highlighted in Portugal, having scored in several games from Moreirense (against Portimonense, Santa Clara, Vitória de Setúbal, CD Aves, Gil Vicente and FC Porto). This was his fifth consecutive goal out of a total of nine goals scored this season.

The striker, hired by Moreirense in 2019 and with a contract until 2022, is valued at 700 thousand euros. Before arriving in Portugal he passed through England (Becup Borough and Mossley AFC).

Despite being born in Lisbon, Fábio Abreu does not forget his Angolan roots, even lining up for 'Palancas Negras', the national football team.
