Isabel dos Santos does not pay rent and owes wages in Portugal. Businesswoman has already requested the unblocking of accounts

The companies of Isabel dos Santos based in Portugal - more specifically Santoro and Fidequity - located on Avenida da Liberdade, in Lisbon, and headed by the right arm of the businesswoman, Mário Leite da Silva -, have outstanding salaries and rents. However, the entrepreneur came to the public to say that she has already asked for the accounts to be unblocked so that the payments can be updated.

Financial difficulties arose after Portuguese judge Carlos Alexandre decided to seize the accounts Isabel dos Santos has in Portugal. Days after the judge decreed the measure, the businesswoman warned that something like this could happen.

Faced with the delay in resolving the backlog of payments, the businesswoman blamed the Portuguese justice: in statements to the newspaper Expresso, Isabel dos Santos' official source revealed that "the justice has already been asked to unblock the payment of salaries, rents and taxes", however, "they are still waiting".

The Portuguese Attorney General's Office, contacted by Expresso, stated that the possibility of "making payments of the nature of those referred to, namely salaries and tax debts, is evaluated when requested".

However, the same newspaper said that the Public Prosecutor's Office did not confirm receipt of the request to unfreeze the accounts.
