The decision was approved by the Economic Commission of the Council of Ministers. The programme will consist of a temporary social protection system that will support the most needy families. The measure is part of the set of measures adopted by the government to combat the Covid-19 pandemic.
In a statement, cited by Angop, the Executive explained that expectations are high: the Government believes that this programme will help around one million six hundred thousand families.
But how will it work and to whom does it apply? The Program to Strengthen Social Protection will focus on families living in the poorest areas of the country.
To support them, monetary support will be provided. Families will also be integrated into activities with income.
The country still has only three cases of Covid-19 infections, the Secretary of State for Public Health, Franco Mufinda, announced this Thursday.
