BPC announces phased care to avoid agglomerations

The Banco de Poupança e Crédito (BPC), the largest bank with public capital, will serve customers in a "phased and more time-consuming manner" as of this Thursday, to avoid the crowding of people, as a precaution to the new coronavirus.

In a statement, the banking unit stated that the measure is in line with the precautions taken by the authorities on the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Interministerial Commission for the Control of the Covid-19 Pandemic in Angola, among several recommendations, warned of the need to avoid crowding more than 200 people in public places.

BPC urged customers to go to its agencies "only in case of absolute necessity", advising them to carry out operations, such as transfers or payments, through its Internet device.

The institution, which says it is "fully committed" to contain the pandemic, also states that by observing prevention measures it is "protecting the communities" that it serves and in which it is inserted.

Angola, without confirmed cases of the disease, develops actions to raise awareness and strengthen epidemiological surveillance measures in the 32 points of entry spread throughout the country.
