"In order to boost economic relations between the two countries, I am working to prepare legal instruments that will probably be signed during the visit of the President of the Republic of Angola, João Lourenço, to Algeria, or within the framework of the fifth commission between Angola and Algeria", said the Algerian diplomat, in statements to the press, after a meeting with the President of the Republic, João Lourenço.
"Within the scope of these agreements, we prepared a framework agreement for air transport, which will allow the Algerian airline to fly to Angola again and create an immediate and direct connection between the two countries, and another agreement will establish the business chamber between Angola and Algeria", he added.
On the occasion, according to a statement from the Presidency of the Republic, to which VerAngola had access, Mihoubi said that political relations between Angola and Algeria "are historic and excellent".
However, he defended the "increase in relations in the economic domains, highlighting the interest already shown by Angolan businesspeople in the acquisition of Algerian cement".
According to the ambassador, there is still room to strengthen relations: "We want to strengthen relations with the Angolan government to reach the most desired levels."
The meeting, held this Thursday at the Presidential Palace, served for the head of state to receive farewell greetings from the Algerian ambassador, who "represented Algerian interests in Angola for the last four and a half years".
The cooperative relations between the two countries are based on a robust diplomatic, economic and regional collaboration partnership. In the political domain, the focus has been on regional security issues, while in the economic domain the focus has been on sectors such as oil and gas, among others.
