The announcement was made by the club itself, through social media. "Vasco da Gama has signed striker Loide Augusto until December 2027", reads the publication made by the club on its X page.
Loide Augusto, who is 25 years old, took his first professional steps in Angola, then headed to Portugal, where he played for Sporting (youth and B team), Farense and Mafra.
"Loide Augusto began his career in Angola, his home country, and quickly stood out. He caught the attention of Sporting, who took him on in the youth teams. He finished his training at Farense, where he became a professional," says the Brazilian club.
After Farense, he went to Mafra, "where he stood out and caught the attention of Alanyaspor (Türkiye)", the club where "he enjoyed the best phase of his career".
According to Angop, the Angolan has been in Rio de Janeiro since this Thursday, and now needs to undergo the usual medical examinations and sign the contract.
The signing of Loide Augusto forced Vasco da Gama to pay 1.5 million euros which, with performance targets, could increase the value to 2.5 million euros. The clauses that could increase the value of the signing include: 700,000 euros for the number of appearances in games, 150,000 euros for the number of goals and assists and 150,000 euros if the Brazilian club qualifies for the Libertadores in the next two seasons.
