The club, in a statement to which VerAngola had access, informs that the CDH General de Exército Francisco Pereira Furtado Football Training Complex is "a modern infrastructure that aims to improve the working conditions of the teams".
The CDH also says that "this is a fundamental step for the growth" of the club and for the development of football in the region.
It was up to the provincial governor of Huíla, Nuno Mahapi, to inaugurate this complex, which has a field with natural grass and changing rooms, whose measurements meet international standards.
According to the governor of Huíla, this training complex will provide greater visibility to the only club that represents the province in national competitions, providing it with better preparation in physical and psychological terms.
On the occasion, he also acknowledged the tribute paid to Francisco Furtado, founder and honorary president of the club, for having stood out during his trajectory, since the creation of the emblem in 1998, to the level he occupies in the national sports scene, writes the Angop.
Francisco Furtado expressed satisfaction with the achievement of this purpose, which he had envisioned over 20 years ago.
"When we conceived this project, in 1998, we had no idea of the impact it would have, as we had gone through many difficulties of various types, but we have managed to achieve our objective so far", he said, admitting that with the new space, the future perspective and strengthening partnerships means that the club is consolidating itself as one of the foundations of football in the country, reinforcing its base and helping with national sports development.
While the coach of Desportivo da Huíla, the Portuguese Paulo Torres, considered that the new training complex will contribute to the discovery of new talents. Quoted by Angop, the coach said that the opening of this center is an "important milestone" in discovering talent and achieving better results.
Paulo Torres said that this is a project that has been thought about since he joined the team, with the aim of establishing sustainable conditions for the development of the emblem, as well as valuing talent at a local level, adding that on Saturday the club saw this dream come true.
He also reported that, in addition to the training complex, the club will also have a space dedicated to training at the Sergeants' School and an internship center in the Eywa urbanization, strengthening its commitment to developing young talent at a regional level, writes Angop.
