"We are following the work of the investigation bodies of the Ministry of the Interior and we will not rest until we have answers about this fatality," assured the head of the Ministry of the Interior, in a post on his Facebook page, to which VerAngola had access.
In his reaction, Manuel Homem also expressed his condolences to the victim's family.
"We extend our solidarity, our comfort and our most sincere condolences to the family of the girl Vitória Rocha," the publication says.
The National Police also spoke out about this tragedy. In a statement, which VerAngola had access to, the agency reported that it is investigating the origin of the stray bullet that fatally hit the student, inside the Elizângela Filomena School.
"Diligence carried out so far at the scene of the incident has revealed a hole caused by a bullet that penetrated the wall and the wallet, lodging in the lower back of the victim's body," says the note, released last Friday.
Thus, the "Provincial Command of the Angolan National Police in Luanda reaffirms that investigations are underway, and a specialized team is carrying out forensic investigations in order to clarify the details of what happened and identify the person who fired the shot so that he can be held criminally responsible".
The police also asked for "calm and serenity", addressing "the grieving family with deep condolences".
The Minister of Education, Luísa Grilo, also spoke about the incident, having lamented "with deep emotion and pain" the death of the student.
"It was with deep emotion and pain that the Ministry of Education learned of the fateful incident," said the ministry, in a statement to which VerAngola had access.
"Nothing justifies the death of children, especially in a school environment. Therefore, saddened by this unfortunate event, we join in solidarity with the parents and guardians of the minor in this moment of pain and irreparable loss of their beloved daughter, expressing to them, on my behalf and on behalf of all the employees of the Ministry of Education, our genuine feelings of condolence," the note says.
The minister also expresses "equal regret" to the management and the entire school community of that school.
The girl's funeral will take place this Tuesday, and her remains will be buried in the Sant'Ana Cemetery, writes Jornal de Angola, which quotes the girl's uncle.
It is worth remembering that the tragedy occurred last Friday. After that, the student was taken to the Espírito Santo Clinic, but ended up not surviving her injuries.
The student's mother, Engrácia Kuando, speaking to Jornal de Angola, told how she received the news: "The school called my sister to inform her that Vitória had suffered an accident and had been taken to the Espírito Santo Clinic."
