Massano guarantees that infrastructures continue to be a priority for the Government

The Minister of State for Economic Coordination, José de Lima Massano, guaranteed that the Executive will continue investing in the infrastructure sector, so that they generate development and well-being. The information was given last Saturday, the day the minister visited the construction works on the Cuima-Cusse road and ended his three-day work trip to Huambo.

On the occasion, the governor highlighted that "Huambo was already one of the main references in the industrial domain, having stated that the Executive will continue to make investments in the domain of infrastructures, so that these can generate development and well-being, as well as formulate policies that stimulate investors", says a statement from the provincial government of Huambo, to which VerAngola had access.

On this last day of work in Huambo, the minister made an observation to the "construction works on National Road 354 in the Cuima-Cusse section, covering a length of 65.8 kilometres and which currently has a physical execution of around 69.31 percent, having recognised that, with the recovery of the access road that connects Huambo to the neighbouring province of Huila, the movement of people and goods will be facilitated, which will contribute to the development of both locations".

Furthermore, Lima Massano also "gave a positive rating for the level of development and opportunities that the region presents", although there are still some challenges, particularly in the infrastructure sector.

The Minister of State also acknowledged that Huambo "is a good example of private investment for the productive sector, which produces a little bit of everything and at levels that exceed the consumption needs of the local community, exporting to other communities in the country, achieving a very high level of food security".

In turn, Pereira Alfredo, governor of Huambo, "valued the working hours of the state's central administration bodies, which, in addition to enabling the presentation of the main concerns of local communities, allowed for the receipt of guidance, such as the engagement of related entities, according to the country's conditions and availability, to solve the problems that afflict the populations".

Among the guidelines received is the installation of a FADA representation in Huambo, said the provincial governor, who assured that the local government has already "identified the location and is awaiting the institution's statement for its implementation, a measure that he believes will promote financial support more closely and reach a greater number of producers and families".

One of the highlights of Lima Massano's working visit to Huambo was the Opportunities and Investment Forum, in which the minister participated. However, his agenda was also marked by visits to other social infrastructures and private initiative projects in the province.

As part of this journey, José de Lima Massano also visited the works of the bioveterinary and animal vaccine production factory, the Agripina poultry farm, the Caála logistics platform, the facilities of the IALTURC wheat flour processing and pasta production factory, among others.

Meeting with the business class in Huambo

While in Huambo, the Minister of State also led a meeting with the business class in that province, "to discuss and understand the main difficulties and concerns that the class faces, having proposed some suggestions with a view to economic development".

Quoted in a statement from the Huambo government, to which VerAngola had access, the president of the Regional Union of Livestock Cooperatives in Central Angola, Paulo Flora, "characterized the event as an opportunity to reiterate the commitment and dedication of the institution he directs, serving as a vehicle to demonstrate its difficulties, concerns and search for joint solutions of what is possible for the growth of livestock production".

"For the president of the Bié Livestock Breeders' Cooperative, and pig farmer, Sandro Miguel, the high cost of certain raw materials essential for feeding livestock farming, the lack of equipment for raising pigs, and the deficit in the transport of electricity to livestock units are concerns and difficulties for the sector", reads the note.

Furthermore, concerns were also raised about "the lack of funding to encourage production and support from FADA, the vandalism and prevarication of privately-owned infrastructure, the bureaucracy in land legalization, the lack of energy and water in production centers, among others".

However, the statement says, "businesspeople, who valued some projects implemented by the Executive, reaffirmed their commitment to continue contributing to the growth of the economic sector and beyond."
