The information was provided by Diamantino Azevedo, Minister of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas, speaking on the sidelines of the International Mining Indaba Conference, which kicked off this Monday and will run until Thursday, in Cape Town, South Africa.
The aforementioned agreement aims to "review a number of existing kimberlite deposits to reassess their economic attractiveness, identify further opportunities for growth in the alluvial diamond mining sector in Angola, work together to promote Angola's diamonds and identify opportunities to develop the capacity of the local community regarding sustainability and social development", reads a statement from the Ministry of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas, to which VerAngola had access.
Quoted in the note, the minister said that "the main objective is to continue promoting the potential of mineral resources and, with that, find all ways to attract more investments to develop the mineral industry" in the country.
The holder of the Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas portfolio also stated that in this edition of the conference the country will present "new investment intentions", as well as promote the "areas that are available".
"We brought new investment intentions here. Therefore, we came to promote new areas that are available to attract new investments", said the official.
According to the statement, the Angolan delegation present at the event will promote the mining investment business forum, which will have the motto "Angola: Mining Potential and Business Opportunities for Investors".
