"The Angolan Institute of Communications inaugurated, this Monday, [20/02/2023], its new Regional Center in the city of Huambo, located in the neighborhood of Calomanda", informs the Provincial Government of Huambo, in a statement that VerAngola had access.
According to the note, cutting the ribbon and unveiling the plaque was the responsibility of the deputy governor for Technical Services and Infrastructure, Elmano Francisco Inácio, on behalf of the governor of Huambo, Lotti Nolika, accompanied by the chairman of the Board of Directors (PCA) of INACOM, Joaquim Domingos Muhongo.
On the occasion, the vice-governor highlighted the "importance of telecommunications, nowadays, in the management of organizations", having underlined that the said center "will bring to the province of Huambo, as well as to the central region and to the country , added value in improving the level of telecommunications".
Joaquim Domingos Muhongo referred that the center "is a fundamental piece within the scope of SIGERN, the Integrated System of Management of the Radioelectric Spectrum and Numbering".
Also quoted in the note, the official also stated that "part of the objectives of this project is to support the planning, management, monitoring and inspection systems of scarce resources for expanding the coverage of INACOM services, in rational management and greater transparency in the process of revenue collection for the State".
INACOM's PCA, the vice-governor and others present at the ceremony carried out a guided tour of the centre's facilities.
The infrastructure, the statement said, includes a control room, Director's room, meeting room, kitchen and bathroom.
It should be noted that INACOM already has facilities of this type in the provinces of Luanda, Cabinda and Lunda Sul, with Huambo becoming the fourth province in the country to gain new facilities.
