The list, named 'Global Top 100 Geospatial Companies – 2023 Edition', was designed by Geoawesomeness, a platform on geospatial technologies.
According to the publication of Geoawesomeness, the list was determined by a committee of experts, and this year's edition committee was composed of 16 members.
To reach this hundred companies, more than 800 companies were analyzed and, subsequently, a list was drawn up with 262 companies "composed of companies presented in the three previous editions (2019, 2021 and 2022), officially named companies and contributions from specialists", clarifies the platform, adding that afterwards the committee voted on the list of 262 companies, helping to decide the top 100 best geospatial companies of 2023.
Thus, the Angolan TopoGIS was one of the chosen ones, appearing alongside names like Google, Microsoft, Meta, among others.
The platform further explains that "the annual list is an essential source of information about companies that are using geospatial data and tools to solve problems and aims to help our community understand the ever-changing ecosystem of the geospatial industry".
