National basketball team prepares final window of qualification for the world cup

The national senior men's basketball pre-selection continues, in Benguela, the training sessions of the preparation stage, with a view to participating in the fifth and final qualifying window of the African zone for the 2023 FIBA World Cup. February 24th to 26th, in Luanda, at the Kilamba Multipurpose Pavilion.


The first game of the tournament is scheduled for 2:00 pm on the 24th (Friday), and will pit the Nigerian national team against its Ivory Coast counterpart, followed by the confrontation between Cape Verde and Guinea, at 4:30 pm. The last game of the day, at 19:00, will be played by the teams of Uganda and Angola.

On the 25th (Saturday), the doors of the Kilamba pavilion will be open in the early afternoon for, at 2 pm, the game between the teams from Guinea and Nigeria to take place. This will be followed, at 16:30, by the game between Ivory Coast and Uganda. The Angolan national team will face Cape Verde's counterpart on this day at 19:00.

The last day of the competition, the 26th (Sunday), will start earlier, with the game Uganda - Guinea scheduled for 13:00. The next match will take place at 3:30 pm and will pit the Cape Verde team against the Ivorian team. To end the fifth qualifying window for the World Cup, it is expected to be highly disputed Nigeria - Angola, scheduled for 18:00, advances the Angolan Basketball Federation (FAB) in a statement sent to VerAngola.

The athletes, as well as the technical teams of all teams, "wait expectantly for the presence of the public", who can already purchase tickets in person, at the shopping malls Xyami Kilamba, Nova Vida, Viana and Cacuaco. Tickets will also be available online through the Ingresso Prático website. Costs vary between 1500 kwanzas (stand C, 2nd floor), 2500 kwanzas (stand A, 0th floor) and 5000 kwanzas (VIP stand, 1st floor).
