Three people arrested in Luanda for trafficking cocaine from Brazil

The authorities detained three people allegedly involved in drug trafficking, of the cocaine type, totaling 11.2 kilograms, concealed in 72 packages of juice, transported inside a suitcase from Brazil.

According to the spokesman for the Criminal Investigation Service (SIC), Manuel Halaiwa, the drug was found with a 44-year-old Namibian woman at Luanda 4 de Fevereiro International Airport, after arriving in the capital from Guarulhos, São Paulo, Brazil, on a TAAG airline flight.

"She was in the condition of a 'mule' [drug courier] and it was necessary to carry out an investigative sequence and determine who would be the recipients of this drug. urban area of Kifica, attract a Nigerian citizen to that place, 42 years old, who was the main recipient of this drug", explained the SIC spokesperson to the press.

Manuel Halaiwa said that a 34-year-old Angolan citizen, a partner of the Nigerian citizen, was also detained.

The woman, who entered Angola by land, through the border of Santa Clara, Cunene province, arrived in Luanda on January 29 this year with the aim of traveling to Brazil, having returned to the country on the 13th of this month.

According to Manuel Halaiwa, the woman was promised a reward of 30,000 Namibian dollars if she successfully delivered the drug.
